Our Work

We have the pleasure of being apart of many projects, here are a few of them.

Forest thinning for Echo Ridge School in Nevada City, CA

When we leave our forests unmanaged for years, over competition amongst trees will not only create ecological issues but also produce more fuel for the next fire. If we go in and remove smaller trees and leave a diverse population of more established trees, then we can greatly increase resources for the forest and reduce fuel load in one blow. The trees and shrubs that we remove are chipped and cast back onto the forest floor to breakdown into soil which in turn will feed your trees for years to come.

Crown restoration on a silver maple in Berkeley, CA More frequently than we would like to see, an improper pruning technique known as “topping” takes place throughout the urban forestry world. When reduction cuts are made in precise locations, we can begin the restorative process of the canopy. It will take many visits and far more cuts to retrain this beautiful silver maple. The tree was originally topped for the enhancement of the neighbor’s view.

The top 25’ of this Redwood died back likely due to drought stress. We removed the dead tops and largest dead lateral limbs to make the tree safe again with the nearby homes.

Crown raise dead wood on a Ponderosa pine in Grass valley, CA

The removal of dead wood from a tree is not only aesthetically pleasing but it gives us a clean slate so to speak on the health of the tree. If you have us out to remove all the dead wood in your tree in ‘21 and we return in ‘25 to see quite a bit more dead wood in key locations then it will give us a good indication of the tree’s health, good or bad.

Often times we find our homes built around trees, roots can damage foundations and driveways if too close to infrastructure. More times than not, a removal very well may be the best course of action.
